Dental crown

A dental crown is a prosthesis designed to cover and protect a damaged or weakened tooth. With a design that faithfully mimics the shape and color of your natural tooth, it blends seamlessly into your mouth.

Why consider a dental crown?

Enhanced Protection: A devitalized or weakened tooth may require additional protection.
Repair: For teeth with significant cavities or large fillings.
Implants & Bridges: A crown can be attached to a dental implant or serve as a pillar for a bridge.
Aesthetics: Perfect for damaged, stained, or misaligned teeth, providing a brighter smile.

Types of materials for dental crowns

Ceramic: Excellent for aesthetics, it replicates the natural color of your teeth. Zirconia crowns are known for their exceptional strength. We primarily use all-ceramic crowns.
Metal: Effective, especially for molars, though less aesthetic. However, it is more affordable.
Ceramo-metallic: The strength of metal combined with the aesthetics of ceramic. However, there is a possibility of a visible gray line if the gum recedes.

Placement of a Crown: A Two-Phase Process

Diagnosis and Preparation: After a detailed examination, the tooth is prepared, an impression is taken, and a temporary crown is placed.

Final Placement: During the second appointment, the crown is adjusted to ensure comfort and aesthetics before being securely fixed in place.

Maintenance of Your Crowns:

Although a crown is designed to last a long time (10 to 20 years or more), durability depends heavily on your oral hygiene. Brushing, flossing, and regular dental check-ups are essential.
